The 5 pillars of Digital Marketing

Posted by Gemma Bonska

Since the launch of the Digital Marketing Hub over 8,000 members have registered and they have all helped us learn and understand the needs of everyone using the DMH.

With consistent feedback and analytics we have taken the DMH to the next level!

As the DMH is designed specifically for the leisure, sport, fitness and health sector we felt it was important to connect our members mission and values with our own.

We want everyone to have a healthy balanced relationship with digital marketing – so in turn as our DMH members are busy helping clients, stakeholders and customers to be healthy, happy, and active.

Together, we recognise and support the need to have a healthy balance.

Welcome to the 5 pillars of Digital Marketing.

From our learnings we have identified that there is a consistent challenge and therefore direction which we have now developed. All the content that is produced within the DMH moving forward will be focused on one of our 5 pillars.

Allowing members new and existing to refine their journey and overcome any digital marketing sticking point.

Pillar 1 – Know your Audience

Pillar 2 – Know your Community

Pillar 3 – Know your Message

Pillar 4 – Know your Tools

Pillar 5 – Know your Success

To find out more about the 5 pillars and to get started, make sure you have joined the Digital Marketing Hub.

In addition to the 5 pillars of Digital Marketing we have introduced the Silver Accelerator Programme, this is what the three groups form within the DMH community;

Ready – A group created for those who are less confident in digital marketing.

Revive – A group for those looking to upskill and get back into the digital marketing game.

Rise – A group for those who are comfortable in their actions but are looking for improved results from marketing activities.

We have created monthly challenges for each member which consist of bite size projects which will in turn support digital marketing development and earn members CPD points with CIMSPA.

This easy to read report provides information which can be used in a variety of ways including informing a digital marketing plan, creating content and understanding how to engage different audiences.

The stats are in!

Following the inaugural Digital Marketing Festival, as any good and on the ball organisation should do, it was time to collate the survey results to establish how everyone who joined us felt about the event.

The key takeaways from participants were to be informed, not to just assume what people want to see, take your time to craft and learn about your audience and who you want to connect and engage with.  The session with Mollie & Rosie Kmita, created a real sense of “Just do it”, don’t be afraid to put yourself out there!

Participants were also drawn by the headline of the festival which was ‘ Find your marketing mojo’, with 36% saying that they felt they found it!

There were two very clear reasons why people took part in the festival;  to learn more about digital marketing and to improve their skills. With 100% respondents stating that attending the festival had made them feel more positive about digital marketing.

The overall NPS (Net Promoter Score) was 64 and 84% said that they will continue to engage with the Digital Marketing Hub as a result of the festival.

Overall the participants praised the expertise of speakers, stating that they had learned a lot from industry experts.

We feel that the results speak for themselves. We would just like to thank everyone who joined us!

If you missed the festival don’t worry you can catch up on all the recordings by joining the Digital Marketing Hub. You can also see our festival page where you can find out a more https://digital.cimspa.co.uk/festival/

The Digital Marketing Hub has exploded since the highly successful Digital Marketing Festival, that was held between the 24th – 28th of April.

Not only was there a surge in new registrations and people joining the event, but it has also meant that the resources on the Digital Marketing Hub are packed with new and exciting content for registered users to access and learn from at their convenience.

Now that the Festival has wrapped up, the next development in the Digital Marketing Hub is the creation of three new engaged and interactive groups as well as an Ambassador programme.

The platform now has three groups for users to join::

Ready – A group created for those who are less confident in digital marketing.

Revive – A group for those looking to upskill and get back into the digital marketing game.

Rise – A group for those who are comfortable in their actions but are looking for improved results from marketing activities.

The groups can be easily accessed in the community hub, on the navigation panel, and registered users can join whichever one feels appropriate for their level.

Each group will have specific content tailored for the appropriate learning level, as well as developing relationships, conversations, and key learning takeaways.

Charlotte Anderson, Marketing and Communications Manager at CIMSPA says. “The formation of the groups has come from the learnings we have achieved and direct feedback from users. Year 2 has seen incredible growth and more engaged users in the platform, and the next development is a natural progression of the evolution of the Digital Marketing Hub”.

The Ambassador programme allows any registered user, to share and invite people to the Digital Marketing Hub. Those who are fully engaged and inviting people, who then join, will be offered a spot as an Ambassador.

There are three levels;

·        Bronze Ambassadors are members who have referred at least 2 total members.

·        Silver Ambassadors are members who have referred at least 10 total members.

·        Gold Ambassadors are members who have referred at least 25 total members.

Gold Ambassadors will be given access to an exclusive Ambassadors Group.

Digital Marketing Hub gears up for the inaugural Digital Marketing Festival

Posted by Gemma Bonska

The award-winning Digital Marketing Hub announces the first of its kind Digital Marketing Festival for the sport, physical activity, fitness, and health sector. Dedicated to driving awareness of digital marketing with a clear aim to help individuals who work or volunteer in the sector embrace and break down barriers of concern that surround digital marketing.

The Digital Marketing Festival will be held between the 24th – 28th April and is being sponsored by the Digital Marketing Institute. The festival, a free online event, designed to excite, empower and educate,  is also supported by ukactive, Active Partnerships, and London Sport with the headline ‘Find your digital marketing mojo!’

Mischa McInerney, Marketing Director at the Digital Marketing Institute says “We at the Digital Marketing Institute (DMI) are honoured to be the Headline Sponsor of the Digital Marketing Festival in 2023. Our commitment to supporting the Sports & Physical Activity community and professionals in achieving marketing success is driven by our mission to help marketers reach their full potential”.

“We understand that facilitating meaningful connections between the Sports and Physical Activity sector and their audience is vital for involving more people in sports and physical activity, promoting physical and mental wellbeing, and creating a healthier society. In collaboration with CIMSPA, we are thrilled to offer attendees a variety of webinars, toolkits, digital marketing lessons, and more to enhance their digital marketing capabilities. Whether you are a personal trainer,  marketing professional or business leader, the Digital Marketing Festival 2023 has something valuable to offer you”.

The December 2022 ukactive published ‘Digital Futures 2022’ report, which identified the challenges the sector faces utilising and applying digital marketing. Research showed that people in a diverse range of roles – students, freelance trainers, sports volunteers, marketing executives, gym & leisure operators, and business leaders – all wish to improve their digital marketing expertise.

The Digital Marketing Hub is a free resource to anyone working in the sport, physical activity, and fitness sector and delivered by CIMSPA and funded by Sport England and the National Lottery.

Now in its second year, the Digital Marketing Hub has been making considerable advancements. Having developed into an app-based community platform, generated over ten leading industry partners, including global brands such as Google and the Digital Marketing Institute, and in early 2023 launched the Gold Accelerator Programme, which is now in its second round following the huge success and high application levels in round one.

Ollie Bell, CIMSPA says “The growth and awareness of the award winning Digital Marketing Hub is something we are extremely proud of. The Digital Marketing Festival is an event the likes fo which the sector has never seen or experienced before, and we are gearing up to make sure the event not only has a strong speaker lineup and registration, but that it fundamentally helps to make a real difference to the need to improve digital marketing knowledge”.

The Digital Marketing Festival will break down barriers with a full week’s schedule, developed to help improve and support understanding. accessibility and use of digital marketing to benefit all users. Participants will be able to meet new connections, grow their network, and take away bucket loads of tips to help take their digital marketing to the next level.

Kate Dale, Director of Marketing says “If you’re trying to reach new participants and retain existing ones, digital marketing is an incredibly valuable resource available – quite literally – at your fingertips. But it can be quite daunting knowing how to make best use of the channels, tools and techniques on offer. The Digital Marketing Festival is a cracking opportunity for anyone working or involved in sport and physical activity to develop their skills, learn new techniques and get advice on how to reach more people efficiently and effectively. It builds on the incredible resources already available for free on the Digital Marketing Hub to help all of us do what we need to do better; and I can’t wait to get involved myself”.
